How to Add a Product in Klynto
Learn how to add a new product to your Klynto store — set pricing, category, inventory, images, and variants in just a few steps.
Adding a Product in Klynto
Klynto makes it easy to add new products to your store, whether you're running a restaurant, retail shop, salon, or any other SMB. Follow the steps below to get a product live and ready for sale.
Step 1: Go to the Products Section
From your Klynto dashboard, navigate to Products in the left-hand sidebar. This is where all your existing products, categories, and inventory live.
Step 2: Click "Add Product"
In the top-right corner of the Products page, click the + Add Product button. This opens the product creation form.
Step 3: Enter the Basic Details
Fill in the core information for your product:
- Product Name — the name customers will see (e.g., "Margherita Pizza," "Blue Cotton T-Shirt")
- Category — assign the product to an existing category or create a new one
- Description — a short summary of the product (optional but recommended)
- SKU / Barcode — enter or scan a barcode for retail and inventory tracking
Step 4: Set Pricing
Enter the product's base price. If your business uses VAT or other taxes, Klynto will apply your configured tax rules automatically. You can also set:
- Discounted price (if running a promotion)
- Variant-specific pricing (e.g., different prices for size or flavor variants)
Step 5: Add Product Images
Upload one or more images for your product. If no image is uploaded, Klynto will automatically apply a relevant default image based on the product's category, so your catalog never looks empty.
Step 6: Manage Inventory (Optional)
If you track stock levels, enable Inventory Tracking and enter:
- Starting stock quantity
- Low-stock alert threshold
- Unit of measurement (pieces, kg, liters, etc.)
This step can be skipped for made-to-order items like restaurant dishes.
Step 7: Add Variants (Optional)
For products with multiple options — such as size, color, or spice level — click Add Variant to create combinations. Each variant can have its own price, SKU, and stock count.
Step 8: Save and Publish
Once all details are filled in, click Save Product. Your product will immediately appear in your Klynto catalog and be available for sale at the POS, on your online store, or both, depending on your channel settings.
Tips
- Use clear, high-resolution images to improve customer trust and conversion.
- Keep category names consistent to make reporting and filtering easier.
- Double-check tax settings before publishing products with region-specific pricing (e.g., Nepal VAT compliance).
